Hi Everyone! 🙌🏻
If you're on the journey to quit kratom or a different substance, first and foremost, kudos to you for taking such a big step toward better health in 2025! Just because it's the best decision for yourself, doesn't make it easy, especially during these winter months. I’m here to share some tips that can help you kick these winter blues and help you feel the light again. Take one hour of your day to complete these five things...I promise it will help!
🚨Red Light Therapy or soak up some sunshine
Improves Mood: Quitting can bring a lot of uncertain and hard emotions to the surface. Red light therapy or catching some sunshine can help brighten your mood by encouraging your body to release endorphins. It’s like a natural happiness boost!
Aids Recovery: Whether you're feeling pain from withdrawal, or soreness in general, red light therapy or sunshine should be your go-to remedy. It can help reduce inflammation and speed up healing, giving you the relief you are looking for.
Better Sleep: A common side effect of withdrawal is insomnia, red light therapy helps you to relax and unwind leading to a better nights sleep.
❄️Cold Plunge, Cryotherapy or a 3 min cold shower
Decrease Inflammation: When you expose your body to cold water, it can help reduce inflammation and muscle soreness. Plus, it feels really refreshing and invigorating!
Gets your mind out of a rut: If your in the throws of your addiction sometimes it's the only thing you can think about and a cold plunge is almost like a nice slap on the face you needed to redirect your attention.
Increases Seratonin: When we complete hard tasks, our brain releases seratonin as a reward, giving you some feel good energy.
Stimulates Metabolism: Cold exposure gets your circulation going, which can energize you and help you feel more alert throughout the day. One of my favorite benefits!
🚶♀️Get Outside
Nature’s Mood Booster: Fresh air and sunshine can work wonders for your mood. Just stepping outside can help reduce feelings of anxiety and depression, making the tough moments a bit more bearable.
🤸♀️Exercise
Tip: I challenge myself to get 10,000 steps a day. I also follow my friends on my apple watch which makes for a nice motivator.
Increase Endorphins: Exercise is like a natural mood booster. When you move your body, you release endorphins, helping to lift your spirits and improve your outlook.
Stress Reliever: Getting your heart rate up provides an awesome outlet for stress or frustration you may experience.
Better Sleep: Regular activity helps tire your body so it's ready to relax, rest and fall asleep at night.
💊Take Your QuitK Supplements 💊
Quick Story: Over the last two decades I would turn to substances, kratom or alcohol, when I was trying to fight depression or anxiety on my own. It usually would give me some relief in the moment but I always ended up in a darker hole than I was in before. Therefore, it was crucial to me that one of the most important aspects of QuitK would be to increase dopamine, seratonin and endorphins naturally so I wouldn't feel the need to self medicate and therefore use substances that were harmful to my physical and mental health. I like to think of QuitK as my natural antidepressant and sleep aid! Being in good mental and physical health is crucial for not relapsing if you have already quit your substance of choice.
Each of these practices offers a little something special to make this process a bit easier and brighter. Cheers to your strength and resilience as you embrace this new chapter in your life, and remember, you’ve got this and I'm proud of you!
Wishing you all the best,
Emily
